Dr Tamás Révész has joined SSEES for one year on 1 June as a postdoctoral research fellow on the project ‘Europe’s Last Peasant War: Violence and Revolution in Austria-Hungary and its Successors, 1917-1945’. The project leader is Dr Jakub Beneš, Lecturer in Central European History. While Dr Révész is employed on the project, he will be taking a hiatus from a fellowship at the Research Center for the Humanities, Institute of History in Budapest. He earned his PhD in 2018 from the University of Vienna with a thesis on the demobilization and remobilization of Habsburg veterans in 1918-1921 from a comparative perspective, with a particular focus on the multi-ethnic borderland regions of Carinthia, Transylvania and Burgenland. Before that he completed two MA degrees, one in social and economic history at Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest and the other in war studies at King’s College, London.
