A Landmark Case to Protect Refugee Rights

3 October 2019

Trial

Congratulations to Dr Agnieszka Kubal, Lecturer in Sociology (formerly at UCL Institute of Education), who has been shortlisted in the top 100 stories of disruptive discoveries from UCL. Dr Kubal led on a legal case to change the plight of Syrian refugees in Russia. This case, known as LM and Others v Russia, went to the European Court of Human Rights and has set a global precedent and it has been since translated into four languages (German, Serbo-Croatian, Czech and Turkish). Read the story 'A landmark case to protect refugee rights' and decide if that has the biggest impact for you.
