The War That Changed the World

1 January 2017

From 10 June 2014

On 22 June Bojan Aleksov (UCL SSEES) will join Amir Duranović (University of Sarajevo) and BBC broadcaster Allan Little to discuss the drive for nationhood during the First World War and the impact of the war on nationalism to this day.

Before a live audience at Sarajevo War Theatre (SARTR), director Haris Pašović will share his very personal take on the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife Sophie. A radio recording of 'The War That Changed the World: Nationalism and the First World War' will be broadcast across the world by the BBC World Service. The programme will transmit exactly 100 years after the assassinations in Sarajevo that triggered the First World War.

The event is part of the British Council and BBC World Service series that looks at the impact of the First World War from around the world.
