Working title of thesis: Popular geopolitics of propaganda: The Russian media and geopolitical imagination in Estonia
Present status & research: Kristina is a PhD Candidate at the UCL SSEES and the recipient of Kristjan Jaak Scholarship (4 year fully funded scholarship). She specializes in geopolitics and media with a focus on geopolitical imagination and Russian media influence abroad as well as strategic communications and disinformation.
Kristina’s thesis studies the effect of geopolitical discourses in the media on popular perceptions of geopolitics, particularly how contradictory geopolitical discourses shape the Estonian Russian-speaking minority’s geopolitical imagination, understandings about international politics.
