The discussion will touch upon a number of topics including democratic backsliding, international response to unfree elections, how this election compares to previous Belarussian elections, the state of the Belarussian opposition, Russia-Belarus relations, the state of Lukashenko's rule, and other relevant reflections about Belarus past and present. Dr Andrew Wilson has written many chapters and books on the topic, including Belarus: The Last European Dictatorship and Chapter 7 The Post Soviet Playground of his recent book Political Technology: The Globalisation of Political Manipulation. Peter Braga brings an extensive research background to the discussion, including a publication in The Journal of Belarusian Studies, and sentiment analysis on political speeches including those of Belarussian officials.
