The event, to mark one year since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, will focus on questions of resistance: how was Ukrainian society able to mobilise and withstand the Russian aggression so effectively? What role did culture play as an instrument of resistance? Why did the West underestimate Ukraine’s ability/willingness to resist, and how can we improve understanding of Ukraine abroad?

Join a panel of UCL’s Ukraine Fellows in this interdisciplinary discussion to discuss the above questions and more. The event will be followed by a reception.

Dr Sasha Dovzhyk (UCL SSEES/Ukrainian Institute London)
