Brigita Séguis has been teaching Lithuanian as a foreign language since 2009. She holds a BA degree in Modern Languages from Vilnius University and an MA in Linguistics from UCL. She is currently undertaking a PhD in General Linguistics and Comparative Philology at Hertford College, University of Oxford, where she is also a Senior Scholar. Her doctoral research focuses on language selection and switching practices in multilingual speakers. Brigita is also a qualified interpreter and translator. She has worked as an interpreter for NHS, and she has recently co-operated with the Royal Court Theatre on a translation of a play by Marius Ivaškevičius. Brigita has taught Lithuanian at SSEES since 2010 and has developed supplementary teaching materials for the Lithuanian Beginners class.
