UCL School of Slavonic and East European Studies (SSEES)

Evening Courses

We at SSEES are proud to offer an unparalleled range of evening courses in Central and East European languages - some of which are not available for part-time study anywhere else in the UK.

Our courses equip students to communicate with confidence in their chosen language of study. All four skills are taught - reading, writing, listening and speaking - with particular emphasis being placed on oral communication. Our courses present the language as it is spoken today in everyday situations, covering basic survival skills for beginners through to fluent discussions on contemporary issues for our more advanced students.

All of our teachers are either native speakers, or have native fluency in the languages they teach. Many of them teach on BA and MA courses here at UCL and at other universities. Our teachers are highly qualified and extremely popular with their students, creating a friendly, stimulating environment for language learning.

All courses take place at 6.30pm on weekday evenings on the Bloomsbury campus.

Enrolment for Winter term is now open. Please note that with the exception of Ukrainian, only non-beginners who have some previous knowledge of the language can enrol this term. The next opportunity for complete beginners to enrol will be Autumn 2018. See How to Enrol for more information and deadlines.
