RegisterUCL
What is RegisterUCL?
Using information from our timetable and our student record system, RegisterUCL provides UCL staff with a simple way of recording student attendance.
Card readers are installed at teaching spaces across campus. Students must ‘tap in’ with their Student ID card each time they attend a face-to-face teaching event on campus. Their attendance is then automatically recorded in the system.
Why do we record student attendance?
We know that attendance is a good indicator of a student’s engagement. When students stop engaging with their studies, this might suggest poor mental health or other wellbeing concerns.
Also, we know that there is a correlation between students’ engagement with their programmes and their overall success.
Recording attendance allows academic departments and UCL’s Student Support and Wellbeing team to step in early and provide support to students who need it most.
