As the new academic year begins, our campus will become noticeably busier. From 15 - 26 September, UCL will host Welcome and Induction activities, including the arrival of over 20,000 new students collecting their ID cards. During this period, you can expect increased footfall around the main campus, with queueing systems in place at the South Junction (near the refectory and bike racks) and by the South Quad Pop Up Learning Hub.

While this may cause some temporary disruption, we hope colleagues will join us in creating a warm and supportive environment for our new students.

Due to the bicentenary building works on the Main Quad and areas of the Wilkins Building, the Students’ Union’s Welcome Festival will move to Gordon Square. The space will host a marquee, a stage, music, events, and activities, along with campus tours and information points for new students. For 2025, Gordon Square will serve as the central hub for UCL’s welcome experience. To get a sense of what’s planned, you can view the Students’ Union UCL’s Guide to Welcome Fest 2025.
