We are redesigning the interruptions workflow on Portico, bringing it in line with other Change of Circumstances processes
We are redesigning the Interruptions workflow on Portico.
This will provide a simpler, more intuitive process for students and staff. The look and feel of the Interruptions workflow will be very similar to the Programme Transfer and Programme Withdrawals workflows, providing consistency in user experience for staff and students across Change of Circumstances.
We have consulted our Change of Circumstances Faculty Champions (with representation from each faculty) throughout design and develop the new workflow.
From this week, the new workflow will be in place for taught students for submit their interruption request. Student webpages and guidance have been updated to align with this new workflow.
The new, enhanced return to study workflow will be launched in October and further communications and guidance will be provided in due course. Benefits will include:
All legacy data in the same place
Greater transparency of different statuses for departments and other staff involved in the process, like the other change of circumstances workflows
Ability for staff to see emails that have been sent to students
Improved reporting for all colleagues involved in the process
More reminders for students who have not engaged with the steps
Checklists for staff and students
We are also working with the PGR teams to agree some minor adaptations to enable the PGR Interruptions process (currently paper based) to also use the workflow. We anticipate that the PGR workflow will be in place from October.
