Student Welcome and Induction Update
11 September 2024
Find out about campus activity during the Welcome period and how you can find out more!
As the new academic year begins, you will see the campus becoming much busier. Between 16 and 27 September, we will be hosting Welcome and Induction activities, including 20,000+ new students collecting their visas and ID cards. To accommodate the heavy footfall of students, there will be queues and one-way systems in the Cloisters and around the Main Wilkins Building.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused during this time, but we trust you'll join us in providing a welcoming atmosphere for our students.
There is a possibility that, like at other universities across the country, activities during Welcome Week could be disrupted by protest. At UCL we respect the right to protest in a legal, safe and peaceful way. We are working hard to minimise the impact of any potential disruption on the experience of our students, and want to reassure you that the safety and wellbeing of our students, staff and visitors remains our core priority. If an event or activity you are involved with experiences any disruption, you are not expected and should not engage directly. We will be providing more guidance to session leads, but please contact Security via the SafeZone app or by calling 222 from any UCL phone.
