6-9 December 2025: Advance notice of SITS/Portico upgrade

The next SITS/Portico upgrade to version 10.8 will begin at 5pm on Friday 6 December. Portico and associated services, such as online payments, UCL Select and the Applicant Portal will be unavailable during this time.

Access to Portico is expected to be restored from 10am on Monday 9 December. Every effort will be made to keep the outage to a minimum.

Please note that the application processes for extenuating circumstances and interruptions will be unavailable while Portico is offline. Staff are encouraged to process applications in-progress ahead of the outage where possible and reassure students new applications can be submitted as soon as the service is restored. Further guidance to support staff and students will be made available prior to the upgrade.

The new version of SITS will be tested prior to the upgrade to ensure the processes and functions you currently use in Portico will continue to operate as expected. This includes testing of services that take data from Portico, such as Moodle and the timetabling system (CMIS).

Please share this information with your colleagues to help with planning around this down time. Advance notice of this interruption of service will be placed on the Portico login screen and communicated to staff and students via various channels.
