New teams created to improve education support and student experience

Two teams re-launch this week, replacing Academic Services. The Education Services and Student Operations teams will lead institutional projects to transform our students’ experience, whilst offering an improved service to colleagues in faculties and departments.

This week two new teams within Student and Registry Services launch, replacing Academic Services. Education Services and Student Operations teams will lead institutional projects to transform our student experience, whilst offering an improved service to colleagues in faculties and departments. 

Education Services 

Education Services is led by Zak Liddell, who was previously Director of Education & Student Experience in the Faculty of Mathematical and Physical Sciences. Under the new directorship, the team are responsible for: 

  • Student Casework 
  • Academic Policy, Quality and Standards 
  • Student Success

Student Operations 

Student Operations is led by Daniel Farrell who joined UCL in 2023 from University of St Andrews. Under the new directorship, the team are responsible for:  

  • Exams and assessments 
  • Portico Governance 
  • Research Degrees 
  • Student Data 
  • Student Records 
  • Student Lifecycle  
  • Timetabling Services 
  • Current student digital product team 
  • Coming soon: Student Data Quality and Curriculum Information Management
