CMIS deadline 1 April – 2 weeks to go
18 March 2022
Meet the CMIS deadline to ensure that your requests for 2022/23 centrally bookable teaching space are included in the room allocation process, and help students complete early module selection (opening 04 April)
The deadline for entering all teaching events for the 2022/23 academic year into CMIS (UCL’s timetabling software) is 01 April 2022. CMIS will be closed on 04 April, and face-to-face events with centrally bookable teaching space requests will be included in the annual room allocation process.
From 04 April UCL’s returning students will begin selecting their preferred modules for the 2022/23 academic year. Students on all compulsory programmes for 2022/23 where there is no module choice will be able to view their selections on Portico from 04 April too.
Before submitting their preferred modules, students will be able to view their draft timetables for all 2022/23 teaching events entered into CMIS in the Portico module selection task and will be asked to check their draft timetable to identify any timetable clashes.
Due to the interconnected nature of these processes, and the need for students to be able to see their draft timetables when making their selections, an extension to the timetable deadline is not possible.
Work is underway on updating the student webpages and FAQs to ensure students understand each step in the revised module selection process.
Key module selection dates will be clearly communicated so that students understand they select their preferred modules by 13 May and will find out their confirmed modules in mid-July. You can see the communication that will be sent to students via Portico here.
Module selection departmental staff briefing
The Student Lifecycle team together with colleagues from the Timetabling team will be holding a staff briefing session on module selection for 2022-23 on Monday 28 March at 11:30-12:30pm. This will be an opportunity to ask questions.
Please add the date to your diary and join us using this MS Teams meeting link. We will record the session for anyone that is unable to attend.
