Changes to Curriculum Data Maintenance and Module Selection for 2022-23
7 December 2021
Watch our recorded department briefing and sign-up for our January Q&A
The Student Lifecycle team recently held a briefing session on Curriculum Data Maintenance and Module Selection for 2022-23.
The team outlined some headline changes to the process this year. Diets for continuing students must be finalised earlier, our continuing students will be selecting their modules earlier and will be informed of their selections in July 2022. A full timeline was shared with key dates and deadlines. For anyone who couldn’t make the briefing, a recording of the session and slides are available within the ‘Training Materials’ section on the Curriculum Data Maintenance website.
Sign up to our Q&A in January
Unfortunately, due to a technical glitch on the day, the Q&A function did not work for everyone during the session and we were unable to respond to as many questions as we’d like. For this reason, we will be holding an additional session in January focused entirely on answering your questions in relation to Curriculum Data Maintenance and Module Selection next year.
The Q&A session will take place on Friday 14 January at 12-1pm. The session will be recorded for anyone that is unable to attend. Please add the date to your diary and join us using the following link to Teams meeting.
Please note: This will not be a repeat of the previous briefing. Take a look at the slides and timeline shared ahead of the session (on the ‘Training Materials’ section on the Curriculum Data Maintenance website) and we will use this time to focus on answering questions and addressing queries.
Curriculum Data Maintenance
The Curriculum Data Maintenance: Modules and Assessments and Programme Diet Maintenace tasks is now open. Within these tasks you can make the following changes:
Withdraw, suspend and un-suspend modules for 2022/23
Amend module delivery teaching terms
Amend module catalogue information such as the module description, keywords, contact information and tutor
Update your programme diets
Assessment Changes for 2022/23
We have now made available spreadsheets based on the current module assessment data for 2022/23 for you to record module delivery assessment changes for 2022/23 instead of completing a Module Amendment Form (MAF). On the spreadsheet, you will be able to indicate the following:
Assessment weighting changes
Changes to methods of assessment
Faculty approval will be required on these spreadsheets for changes.
Student Module Selection
Next year we will be asking our returning students to make their initial module selection for the 2022-23 academic year in April instead of September.
This will give departments more time to plan based on actual demand, address any issues and consider options in advance of Start of Session. It will also allow more time to ensure the modules on a student’s record are recorded accurately.
We’re changing the selection process to improve the student experience. Our students will know what they are studying earlier and will be able to resolve queries and seek guidance at a less stressful time of the year.
