Staff Consultation on Extenuating Circumstances
30 October 2020
Complete our survey to help us improve UCL’s Extenuating Circumstances procedures
Part of UCL’s Student Support Review
UCL has made a commitment within the Education Strategy to deliver more personalised and timely student support. A working group is investigating practical solutions to a range of issues, both to help students and to support departments in helping students.
One workstream is looking at how UCL can improve the Extenuating Circumstances process, and we want to gather the views of UCL staff on a range of topics from self-certification to the types of mitigation available to appeals.
We are also working on an online form and workflow which joins up to Portico and which should make the process much easier to use. We will be contacting faculties, departments and students to help us design the system.
All UCL staff are invited to respond to the consultation. A separate consultation is being developed for students.
