Line managing remotely

The role of a line manager is critical in enabling an effective working environment and community, while our staff are working remotely.
UCL’s HR services has produced a website to support line managers during this time. The website includes:
- Golden rules for managing remote teams
- Tips for holding online meetings
- Supporting bereavement and loss
- Links to LinkedIn learning resources, including the course Leading at a distance
It is important that development conversations continue to take place between line managers and their staff. Plans and objectives will need to be refreshed and reviewed over the coming months as the new normality becomes clearer.
HR have a Developmental Conversations website where you can access an interactive online learning module alongside resources designed to help staff to have an open, two-way dialogue around goal-setting and personal development.
