About the Qualification

Individual Key Skills certificates are available in six areas (application of number; communication; information technology; improving own learning and performance; problem solving; working with others) and can be awarded at four levels. Levels 2 and 3 are deemed the most important for higher education. Candidates with GCSE A* to C grades in English, Mathematics and Information Technology will not be expected to take the corresponding key skills at level 2 although they are not formally proxy qualifications.

Key Skills certificates are not acceptable on their own for admission to UCL, or as alternatives to GCE A Levels
