A rare Bronze Age timber lakeside settlement at risk in East Sussex

Archaeology South-East has been excavating at the site of Cooden Camp, a WW1 training camp in Bexhill, East Sussex.

A collaboration between sound artist Simon James, ASE/UCL and local young people explores the Lewes Green Huts' history through deep listening and creative processes before their loss.

This exciting community archaeology project focused on Whitehawk Camp, a neolithic Causewayed enclosure in Brighton, East Sussex.

Excavations at this site revealed evidence of hunter-gatherers, Iron Age pastoralists, funerary monuments, Roman agriculture and industry, plus early medieval and later manors, mills and a deer park.
