Global Governance and the EU: Future Trends and Scenarios (GLOBE)
The GGI has joined an international consortium of
10 academic partners from 8 countries, led by the Institut Barcelona d’Estudis Internacionals (IBEI), to conduct research on future trends and scenarios in global governance. Funded by the European Commission’s Horizon 2020 program, the GLOBE project addresses the strategic priorities identified in the EU Global Strategy – such as trade, development, security and climate change – as well as migration and global finance, in order to identify the major roadblocks to effective and coherent global governance by multiple stakeholders in a multipolar world. The GGI will lead on the climate change work package and also provide input on a cross-cutting work package on global governance. Find out more on the

Jean Monnet Network on EU/China Global Economic Governance
Funded by a Jean Monnet Network grant, this research network brings together a multidisciplinary group of European and Chinese experts to assess the role of China and the EU in global economic governance. The network is coordinated by CEU San Pablo University (Madrid) and includes researchers from UCL, Fudan University (Shanghai), the Institute of European Studies at the Chinese Academy of Social Science (Bejing), Zhejiang University (Zhejiang), UCLouvain (Leuven) and others. On 22 March 2019, the GGI facilitated a
network meeting at UCL which discussed global governance and regulation across issue areas such as trade, investment, competition, tax and the environment.
International Global Governance Network
The International Global Governance Network was launched at UCL in November 2016. It brings together individual researchers and academic institutions in the field of global governance around the world to discuss current trends in global governance scholarship and explore possibilities for scaling up collaboration. Network participants include researchers from UCL, American University (Washington, DC), ESADE (Barcelona), IBEI (Barcelona), KU Leuven (Leuven), New York University (New York), WZB (Berlin) and others.
