Faculty of Social & Historical Sciences launches its new consultancy initiative, with the aim of providing pioneering consultancy services backed by UCL’s world-leading research and expertise within social sciences to help inform and innovative solutions that benefit organisations across public, government and private sectors.
In June, the Faculty of Social and Historical Sciences (SHS) at UCL officially launched its new consultancy initiative with a networking event held in its UCL East Marshgate building, bringing together representatives from a range of London-based organisations across public, private, and government sectors.
Professor Mark Altaweel, from UCL’s Institute of Archaeology and Dr. Caroline Parker, UCL Lecturer of Anthropology and Deputy Director of UCL’s Social Data Institute, introduced SHS’s growing consultancy capabilities, highlighting expertise within key initiatives such as the Social Data Institute (SODA), the Ethnographic Insights Lab (EI-Lab) and the Policy Lab.
Attendees at the launch event also learned about SHS’s current partnerships that include public bodies such as local councils and central government to a variety of private businesses including global brands like Netflix and Motorola as well as smaller enterprises.
Looking ahead, SHS announced plans to appoint a dedicated Business Development Manager to help scale its consultancy work and to facilitate building stronger external collaborations. The launch event also provided opportunities for attendees to network and explore potential future partnerships.
The SHS Consultancy is supported by UCL Consultants (UCLC) and UCL Innovation & Enterprise. Its new website is now live at: www.ucl.ac.uk/social-historical-sciences/innovation/expertise-and-consultancy
