Archaeology International Volume 25 published

The latest volume of Archaeology International (Vol 25, 2022), published by UCL Press, showcases the expansive range of research and activities of the staff of the UCL Institute of Archaeology.

Research articles and updates cover subjects including ‘Neolithic bone shovels of Britain’, ‘urban life in early Islamic Morocco’, ‘map projections, the politics of cartography and their relevance to archaeology’ and ‘unlocking wetlands ecologies and agriculture in prehistory’ as well as ‘teens, manga and replica shabtis’ and ‘the history and development of, and access to, the Annual Report of the Institute of Archaeology (1937-58).’

The volume contains the final Director’s Report from Sue Hamilton as well as an interview with Kevin MacDonald (new Director from September 2022). The usual bookshelf of recently published research is included as well as information about the Institute of Archaeology around the world.

The journal, produced annually since 1997, combines news about Institute activities with reports on research, both new and on-going projects, carried out by members of staff. You can read more about the journal as well as freely read the latest issue and the entire back issues online here.
