Institute of the Americas | Graduate Open Series

The Institute is a hub for research, teaching, and public debate on the Caribbean, Latin America, the USA and Canada. Research students work with leaders in their field to conduct groundbreaking research in history, economics, politics, social policy, environmental studies and development. It offers the largest programme of postgraduate teaching on the Americas in the UK. Teaching is focused on comparative and interdisciplinary debate in small groups. The institute runs an unparalleled programme of events on the Americas and functions as a bridge between the academy and the policy community.
