Centre for the Study of the Legacies of British Slavery (CSLBS)

The Legacies of British Slavery Database has built a foundation for a new understanding of the extent of slavery’s impact on the development of modern Britain.

The CSLBS expanded from the acclaimed Legacies of British Slave-Ownership project that started in 2009.

Since its inception, the CSLBS has led an array of public-facing projects with diverse methods, audiences, and aims, both independently and in collaboration.

As the CSLBS moves into an exciting new phase, we are looking to our dedicated supporters to consider making a donation, at any level, to support our work.

The CSLBS newsletter, Traces, is published quarterly among our community of collaborators and supporters around the world.
