Caroline Streek

Caroline’s research explores the political influence of Ladies within the royal household of Princess Caroline of Brandenburg-Ansbach during her tenure as Princess of Wales and subsequently Queen Consort of King George II.  The period of interest is 1714-1737 and delves into the process of client-broker-patron within the matrix of networks in the female household at the early-Georgian Court.  In providing a fuller picture of networking during this period, her study will contribute to current research by illuminating the elite woman’s role in a world where they were otherwise excluded or dominated by men.  

Before undertaking her post-graduate research, Caroline worked as a personal assistant within the private medical sector.
