SHS Festival of PhD Research
We are pleased to invite you to the inaugural Social and Historical Sciences Festival of PhD Research, a celebration of the breadth, quality, and originality of doctoral research across our faculty.
SHS Festival of PhD Research

Ever wondered what Archaeologists get up to? How economists tick? What debates get art historians going? What geography is all about? How anthropologists can help us think about the lives of other people? Or what the big questions are in political theory? Where history is at? What is going on in the Americas? If so come and discover the innovative and diverse work being undertaken by our SHS PhD researchers. Through lightning talks, interactive workshops, exhibitions, and posters the Festival of Research will offer a lively overview of the innovative, world changing, research being lead by our community of doctoral researchers.
Programme highlights include:
- Poster displays (11.00 AM to 5.00 PM)
- Photographic exhibitions (11.00 AM to 5.00 PM)
- Interactive workshops (11:00 AM – 12:30 PM)
- Lightning Talks (2:00 PM – 3:00 PM)
- Festival reception (3:15 PM – 5:00 PM)
