Opening with an editorial titled Vocalizations in the Midst, Dr Tatiana Thieme, Professor Mette L. Berg and Professor Elena Fiddian-Qasmiyeh reflect on the challenges of writing “in dark times” while affirming the importance of scholarship as a space for care, solidarity, and resistance.
Guest-edited by Professor Tricia Redeker Hepner (Arizona State University) and Professor Magnus Treiber (Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich), this section takes inspiration from James Ferguson’s The Anti-Politics Machine. It explores how migration regimes operate to control, exclude, and profit from forced displacement.
