Professor Taylor examines how climate change is affecting groundwater resources in Tropical Africa and South Asia. The seminar focuses on strategies to secure sustainable and climate-resilient water supplies, highlighting adaptation approaches that protect this vital resource in a warming world.
Richard Taylor is a Professor of Hydrogeology at UCL Geography, specialising in groundwater systems, climate change adaptation, and sustainable water management. He has led international research consortia across tropical Africa and South Asia and contributed to the IPCC Sixth Assessment Report and the UN World Water Development Report 2022.
"My research seeks to inform solutions to sustain equitable access to water for drinking and irrigation in low-income countries in the tropics most affected by global change."
