This workshop is for early-career and mid-career academics who have not previously led an externally funded collaborative research project as principal investigator. It will provide insights into National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) and Wellcome Trust strategic priorities, the experience of applying to these funders and advice on identifying collaborators, building teams, and how to work with others.

Speakers include:

  • Dr Claire Kidgell, Assistant Director, NIHR
  • Dr Urszula Pawlicka-Deger, Research Manager, Discovery Research
  • Professor Gabriella Conti, Economics
  • Professor Sahra Gibbon, Anthropology
  • Dr Katy Sutcliffe, IOE

Places are limited and will be open to social science researchers outside the faculty so registration is essential.

Pending confirmation of funding, attendees from SHS will be eligible to apply for seed funding of up to £2,000 for a health-related research or impact project in collaboration with another colleague.

Access profile

The Clipper Room is on the first floor of Wallacespace, a building without a lift. If the inaccessibility of the building will prevent you attending please contact Helen Stark who will be able to meet with you individually to discuss the content of the workshop.
