AI Governance and Regulation in Latin America
This event brings together leading policymakers, researchers, and practitioners from Latin America to discuss emerging frameworks for the governance of artificial intelligence (AI) across the region.
The event will feature the launch of the Latin American AI Governance Index and provide a platform for sharing national experiences, regulatory innovations, and research-policy collaboration. Organised by the UCL Institute of the Americas in partnership with RAI UK and CENIA (Chile), the panel includes high-level speakers from Brazil, Mexico, and Chile:

- Reflections on national frameworks, governance challenges, and regional coordination

This event is part of a project led by Dr Nestor Castañeda that seeks to deepen understanding of how Latin American countries are navigating the complex governance landscape surrounding artificial intelligence, and what role international cooperation can play.
