CSCA Screening: Sigmund Freud’s Dora (1979)
“I stand, therefore, before this picture both as mother and as voyeur, and like Dora, I hold to both points of view.”
- Jane Weinstock, Screen, vol. 2, issue 2 (July 1981)
Organised by Philomena Epps, the CSCA will screen Sigmund Freud’s Dora: A Case of Mistaken Identity (36 mins, dir. Anthony McCall, Claire Pajaczkowska, Andrew Tyndall, Jane Weinstock, 1979), alongside a selection of artist film and video. The film was made in response to contemporary debates surrounding feminism, film theory, and psychoanalysis. The second half of the event will be dedicated to informal discussion.
