In conversation with Ignazio Visco (Governor, Bank of Italy): Inflation in the euro area
Ignazio Visco, Governor of the Bank of Italy, will discuss key issues in the debate on inflation including the role of demand and supply factors in causing inflation to rise, the effectiveness of the European Central Bank’s response to it and the prospects for monetary policy.
We are excited to introduce Ignazio Visco, an eminent economist and academic, who will be speaking at our upcoming event. Visco has contributed immensely to the field of economics through his research and policy-making expertise. He currently serves as the Governor of the Bank of Italy and has held several other prominent positions as a member of the Boards of Governors of the World Bank, and the Asian Development Bank (ADB). He is also Alternate Governor for Italy at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB).
Visco’s research focuses on macroeconomics, monetary policy, and financial stability, and he has published several papers in leading academic journals. He has also been a part of various policy-making committees at the national and international levels, including the European Central Bank’s Governing Council and the Financial Stability Board.
