Reporting on Politics in Lockdown
Our webinar on 1 June discussed parliament and citizens’ assemblies operating online.
This webinar will examine the challenges of reporting on politics, and on parliament, during the lockdown. What have journalists lost with no access to the lobby, and what alternative sources can they use instead? What are the implications for how well politicians have been held to account and voters informed? Will there be lasting effects of lockdown on the news industry or the nature of political reporting?
Speakers:
- Mark D’Arcy, Parliamentary Correspondent of the BBC
- Esther Webber, reporter for The Times Red Box
- Brian Taylor, Political Editor for BBC Scotland.
The event will be chaired by Professor Meg Russell, Director of the Constitution Unit.
