Book Launch: 'Poetic Memories of Colombian Diaspora'
Diaspora Woman – formerly Truth, Memory and Reconciliation Commission of Colombian Women in the Diaspora – are an international civil society organisation who document the impact of war and immigration on women, as well as the mechanisms they have developed for coping with these traumatic experiences. Their goals include helping to heal trauma through collective processes, and to inform the Colombian Truth Commission (CEV) about the experiences of the Colombian diaspora.
Diaspora Woman UK, with the support of the UCL Institute of the Americas, will be launching their book: Poetic Memories of Colombian Women in the Diaspora, on Thursday 25th April 2019. The book is the result of Diaspora Woman UK’s work over the last five years. It is also a tribute to women affected by the Colombian armed conflict.
The book launch will be accompanied by an evening of discussion and cultural activities.
