Legislation at Westminster: the impact of parliament on government bills

Meg Russell's latest book Legislation at Westminster, co-authored with Daniel Gover, demonstrates that parliament has much greater influence over legislation than is often supposed. 

Not only do both chambers force many amendments, they also have various more subtle means to influence what government proposes. 

At this event Meg and Daniel will present their findings, with responses from David Natzler, Clerk of the House of Commons, and Baroness (Patricia) Hollis, Labour member of the House of Lords.
