Affiliates from Other Departments
If you’re an Affiliate student from another department, there is a limited number of Economics modules that you may be able to take. Full details can be found below.
If you’re an Affiliate student from another department, you may be able to take ONE ECON module from this Module list, subject to space and fulfilling pre-requisites. Choose from modules under headings 'Second Year Modules' and 'Final Year Modules'.
To find out if you fulfil pre-requisites you must attend, with a current transcript, one of the below Zoom sessions with Affiliate Tutor in Economics:
Wednesday 7th Jan 11-2pm
Wednesday 14th Jan 11-2pm
Access the meetings online.
If the Affiliate Tutor says you can take the desired module you should enter it into PORTICO and we will approve it once all our own ECON affiliates have been registered for their modules. This may be towards the end of the first week of Term 2.
If you receive a rejection from PORTICO it means there was not space on the module and you will need to select again. We therefore advise you to get more than one module approved during your appointment with Economics Affiliate Tutor.
ECON0004 Applied Economics, ECON0007 World Economics and ECON0001 Economics of Financial Markets are already oversubscribed and will not be available to students from other depts.
Please note we may not be able to accommodate students who come to us from other departments insisting they must have certain ECON modules in order to graduate at their home institution. If you have any questions or want to check which modules still have places, contact us at economics.affiliates@ucl.ac.uk.
