The Economist's Society holds occasional lecture events, featuring prominent economists. In 2022 as part of their Nobel Laureate Series, the Society hosted labour economist and Nobel Prize winner David Card who presented a lecture entitled “Economic Research and Policy: Immigration and the Minimum Wage”.
