What led you to study MSc Environment, Politics and Society at UCL?
“After completing a BSc in Liberal Arts and Sciences, I interned at Eurogroup for Animals, which sparked my interest in policymaking and biodiversity protection.
“Motivated to deepen my knowledge, I chose the MSc in Environment, Politics and Society due to its interdisciplinary curriculum, which resonated with my interests.
“The course offered me the chance to learn from leading scholars and expand my understanding of EU institutions and governance.”
Was there a particular highlight of your time on the course?
“A key highlight was discovering geopolitics, which opened a new perspective for me.
“Another memorable experience was writing my thesis, where I enjoyed the opportunity to delve deeply into a specific topic with guidance from my supervisor.”

What are you doing now, and what does a typical day look like for you?
“I work as a Political Researcher at Eurogroup for Animals, an advocacy organisation focused on animal welfare across the EU.
“My role involves developing political strategies, monitoring political developments, conducting policy research, and engaging with stakeholders.
“A typical day starts with reviewing the latest political news, followed by internal meetings to adapt strategies. Afternoons include attending events at the European Parliament or collaborating with other NGOs.
“What I love about this job is its dynamic nature, with no two days being the same.”
How has your time at UCL shaped what you do now?
“At UCL, I developed strong research and analytical skills, which have been vital in my current role. The interdisciplinary approach helped me connect science, policy, and global governance, essential in my work.
“UCL also gave me the confidence to engage with experts and policymakers, expanding my intellectual horizons and pushing me to aim higher in my career.”
Do you have any advice for current or prospective students interested in this area?
“My advice is to keep an open mind, step outside your comfort zone, and pursue internships. They provide valuable real-world experience and help you understand what you enjoy.
“Also, take advantage of UCL’s academic resources—engage with professors, attend conferences, and explore different perspectives. Enjoy your time at UCL, as it will pass quickly!”
