Professional Services and Technical Staff

I lead the professional operations of the department and am responsible for budgeting and finance, HR, research administration and the space we occupy. I work closely with the Head of Department on strategic planning. An interesting fact about me? I once ran from Carlisle to Newcastle - it rained a lot!

I look after the undergraduate students and help to run the History of Art department. In my spare time, I perform in Am Dram shows across London. Come talk to me if you want to know more about undergraduate life here or what I'm starring in next!

My role looks after everything related to the administration of History of Art postgraduate degree programmes. Chat to me about PG work and life. I love anything crafty, jewellery making, animals and nature, and hanging out with my cat, Mal!

I work on the innovative MSc Conservation of Contemporary Art and Media course at UCL East, looking after students and programme coordination. Postgraduate students can chat to me about the course of their UCL journeys. When I finish work for the day, I love creating unusual knits, and I also sing in an indie folk duet.

I lead the Communications and Events strategy for our department, with a focus on student recruitment. Working closely with Queenie, I help craft and share our department’s key messages with diverse audiences. Outside of work, you’ll usually find me in the kitchen experimenting with new recipes or baking something sweet. Evenings are for unwinding with a good book on the sofa.

I work closely with Ella on communications and events across the History of Art and History departments. My responsibilities include leading on all event organisation and social media, as well as contributing to website updates and newsletters. My favourite pastimes include trying new restaurants and all things sustainable fashion!

I work in the Media Conservation Studio supporting the MSc Conservation of Contemporary Art and Media. I’ve been installing and conserving time-based media artworks for over 20 years, at places like Tate and more recently UAL. I love hip hop culture (especially of the 80’s and 90’s) and with skateboarding and modular synthesisers.

I manage the Conservation Laboratory at UCL East, where I oversee the spaces and equipment while also supporting lecturers and students of the MSc Conservation of Contemporary Art and Media on a part-time basis. The rest of my week, I work as a Heritage Scientist at Historic Royal Palaces. The first time I applied for the London Marathon, I got in and it turned out to be the most incredible (and challenging) rollercoaster ride of my life…(for now)!

I am responsible for the day to day running of the Materials Studies Lab every Tuesday. I work closely with the Mat Lab Lead on procurement, health and safety and equipment maintenance, and assist with experimental work and teaching in the lab. Outside of work, I enjoy textile crafts and music, and I am studying towards my PhD with the Royal Veterinary College.
