Experienced artefact and ecofact specialists, conservators and archivists and a talented graphics and engagement team.

Jim has had a long career at ASE, starting as a field archaeologist in 2002 before moving into post-excavation management in 2007, and to Assistant Director in 2023. In this current role, Jim leads a section comprising a broad range of professional archaeologists, from project managers, through to artefact and environmental specialists, illustrators and archivists.

Anna leads our Specialist Services team. This includes staff working at all stages of the post-excavation cycle, from finds processing to conservation to artefact specialisms to archives. Anna is herself a Prehistoric and Roman pottery specialist.

Fiona oversees the production of high-quality illustrations for a diverse array of publications and client reports. She is responsible for the design and typesetting of the SpoilHeap monograph series, including the creation of Open Access editions. Her role encompasses the illustration of archaeological artefacts, the design and preparation of exhibition displays and promotional materials for print, and ensuring adherence to ASE’s brand guidelines.
