CASMI is a collaborative network now hosted and run by UCL with the support of the NIHR biomedical research centre at UCLH, committed to understanding and developing better and more sustainable means of effecting medical innovation.
CASMI aims to further the development of sustainable medical innovation by fostering links between academics and professional specialists to encourage interdisciplinary and interinstitutional research and scholarship, highlighting and organising relevant meetings for further discussion and influencing policy and practice. We plan to foster collaborative links locally, with our founding partner Oxford, and new institutions in the UK and beyond.
There is no doubting the importance of the agenda that CASMI is pursuing, emphasised by the Life Sciences Industrial Strategy and the challenges and opportunities confronting medical innovation in post-Brexit Britain. By extending our network we hope to provide a platform for debate which can provide proactive solutions for the challenges currently facing medical innovation.
