Clinical Academic Training

View of UCH from UCL

UCL offers one of the best environments in Europe for clinical academic training and has a track record of excellence. UCL Partners created Europe's largest academic health science partnership in the heart of London, bringing together UCL with Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital, Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, the Royal Free Hampstead NHS Trust and UCLH NHS Foundation Trust. These are linked to generously funded NIHR Comprehensive Biomedical Research Centre and Specialist Biomedical Research Centres in child health and ophthalmology. Together these offer a platform unparalleled in Europe not only for 'bench to bedside' research but for the transition from scientific research to clinical medicine required in clinical academic training. The School offers specific opportunities at all levels of clinical academic training, from undergraduate intercalated degrees through NIHR Integrated Academic Training programmes.
