In Vilnius, Contemporary Art Institute and place translated Lodge of Digital Masons. Thalamus, simple director movie projection, tuner which allows documentation of hypnosis at different stages. Translated into two languages. Audio always in English. Synchronicity within the project - hypnosis as metaphor for digital. Navigation as having fluidity. Tuning device uses metronome scale as point of reference.

First time exhibited in Vilnius out of the monitor screen. A lot of discussion around the work.

Sent back to London - Simple movies made using old Russian space footage and some of Jon & Alison's own impressions - music, Vilnius in your pocket - Time Out of Vilnius. References to the military - had to be presented in an open ended way because of tourist value.

Collections of residue - do not have to travel - could pick up e-mail. flights of fancy.

Website Series of holiday snaps introducing parts of London and Vilnius using photoshop composites. Tried to reflect the experience from a previous experience - as we all travel. Picked up real audio across the net and relayed different radio channels. Miroslav - hotbot and Artn tip Made simple text piece - transcription of a conversation in a car but connected to a search engine (like a road movie). Trying to communicate through Beaconsfield via CUSeeMe which was difficult because of telephone technology and language. Internet - ecology of images and text - re-use what's there. Use of the macintosh screens and interfaces. Brenda Laurel Cognitive Overhead - makes everything on the desktop as difficult to understand as possible. Plays through without allowing inteaction although you can fiddle around with the piece.

People thing they can navigate their way through it but it is quite ordered. Also if things go wrong people still think it is part of the work.

The infinitely long aeroplane. 4 hours worth. part of airports project - Taxiing.

Marion wondered where the work was at Video Positive and only realised it was a piece when it started shaking on screen.

Aidy - Video documentation of end of year show. Sound light, work collected that had not worked. At lunch said, spending a year trying to stop himself from resolving things.

Carey - wired a series of prints which reflect the macro and micro level of cable. Installation of cable. Dirty messy laying of cables. To be shown indivitually of as a series - 23 prints in all. Technology at the borders. Inside outside underground overground. Cables becoming more and more invisible, computers being more and more invisible. Companies trying to make these things invisible. Melding with the real world is richer than we actually thought. What advanced technoloyg is is tech which looks like magic. If you can't understand it - computer companies buy into that myth. Wires are cute, anthropomorphise them almost. They do much more than they look. Tarmac, cracked earth. Implicate the cable in some kind of disaster. Part documentary/ part staging. It was supposed to oscillate between two. 5 foot by 4 foot on aluminium. Keeping the work in the physical world and work in the computer from computer world. Romantic work. They will age well. Keep you old web pages. Tiled images gone.
