In the precarious post-Yugoslav wars environment, the genre of popular music Turbo-folk acts as an arena where grassroots reconciliation is happening.

As a shared cultural language, Turbo-folk invokes positive associations of cultural commonalities, overriding politics. This is best observed in the YouTube comments section under music videos.
