Hannah Leighton-Boyce

I work across a variety of sculptural formats including collage, drawing, writing, audio installation, and performance duration. My work explores material, environmental and sensory relations, often contemplating architectural elements and structures from the places where I exhibit and incorporating them into my practice. Recently, I have begun to reorientate my thinking back toward my body, to re-consider how experiences of living with a long-term chronic condition, and the surrounding care and support structures has informed the (unstable) grounding, the cumulative and reductive forces behind my work. It is within the (dis)ease, the slippage, transition point, the grafting and prosthesis, the fold, the stretch, and extension.
