Hyunmin Kim – MA/MFA

I have been focusing on the inevitable loss or the misleading of information in the process of perceiving certain objects. This might be not only the limitation of our ability but also the inherent problem of our perception. My exploration begins with the assumption that concepts and ideas can be unstable, partial, and subjective. I'm drawn to the fact that many of the present concepts can instantly change or lose their meaning. I'm interested in how concepts and ideas affect object perception. Thus, I want my works to be situated between familiarity and unfamiliarity, and to conflict with the inner concepts of the viewer's mind.
