Bartlomiej Hajduk – MA/MFA

My practice includes drawing on paper, painting on wood and sculpture assembled from foraged materials found on walks around rivers, woods and fields. In drawing and painting, I depict fantastical scenes inhabited by animals, animal-human hybrids, plants, flowers, seeds, eggs, stars and planets. My work is informed by Polish culture and rural sensibility, as well as influenced by the realm of personal mythologies, memories, fantasies, emotions, sexuality, spirituality and cosmology. I am drawn to cycles occurring in nature, such as life and death, day and night, birth and rebirth, changing seasons, and the movement of celestial bodies across the sky.
