My work takes from the decrepit and insalubrious parts of my own surroundings, from the hometown I grew up in; a deprived seaside town in the south of England; to the streets of London, in which I now live. Using the aspirational life of found objects, often made from cheap materials but alluding in their design otherwise, I create sculptures that try to deal with the beauty, failure, theatricality and nostalgia of the dichotomy of deprivation vs excess that surrounds us every day.
