Tomoko Takahashi is a Japanese artist, until 2010 based in London. She studied at Tama University, Goldsmiths College and the Slade School of Fine Art. Her main medium is installation art, made of found materials. She won the EAST award at EASTinternational in 1997 and has exhibited worldwide. Exhibitions include Beaconsfield, London; the Saatchi Gallery; UCLA's Hammer Gallery; The Serpentine Gallery, London and the De La Warr Pavilion, Bexhill on Sea. Her work has been collected by Tate and in 2000 she was shortlisted for the Turner Prize.
